VOW
OF SILENCE
THE
VOW OF SILENCE

The
St
John Central High School Interact Club is
raising $8,500.00 to build a new school house in Africa.
They will be participating in the VOW OF SILENCE
which will begin on March 5, 2009 at 3:00 pm EST.
What
does it mean to be silent? Being silent can simply mean
refraining from speaking out loud. It can also mean
cutting yourself off from e-mail, Facebook,
and text messaging and cell phone use. Or you can take it
to the extreme and ban hand gestures, note writing, miming
and using sign language.
This
fundraising campaign is being done by the members of the
St. John Interact Club to raise $8,500 to build a one room
school for girls in Africa. They will be asking sponsors
to pledge a donation for each hour, minute or second of
silence or for the whole 24 hour period. One time monetary
donations are also being accepted.
