NEW INTERACT CLUB AT BRIDGEPORT HIGH SCHOOL
A new Interact Club is in the process of being formed at Bridgeport High School. One of Past President David Demarest's goals was to start the Interact process at BHS during his year as club president, but all the pieces did not fall in place.
This year everything is coming together in record time. First, a new club advisor has been found in Stephanie Mendelson, Business Instructor at BHS. David and Past New Generations Chair Roy Edge met with Stephanie and review the step and documents necessary to get a club started.
Stephanie had already spoken to several students about participating in the Bridgeport Christmas Parade as Interact participants. She invited eight students and nine showed up to join in.
One week later, just before Christmas break, 65 students gathered to sign up as charter members of the Bridgeport High School Interact Club and officers and board members were elected.
The Bridgeport Rotary will be purchasing the Interact banner, charter pins and gavel and bell for the new Interactors. This will be the second Interact club sponsor by the Bridgeport Club... the first being the Interact club at St John Central in Bellaire, Ohio.
